Clean Daytime Skin Care Routine

Clean Daytime Skin Care Routine

Happy Friday everyone! Other than getting into bed after a nice shower, washing my face and getting ready in the morning is one my favourite part of the day. Having a good skin care routine just helps start the day nicely. Especially in the morning, it’s like cleansing your tiredness away.

How my morning routine usually goes:
1. Wash my face with the Bare Bones cleanser. I like this for the morning while my face is relatively clean because the cleanser is pretty mild. To use this product, you apply with your hands or a towel then rinse off with warm water. This cleanser doesn’t foam up, and the consistency is almost like water so be wary if you like foam. Some days I’ll just rinse my face with water when I’m lazy. Less is more when it comes to products!
2. Tone my face with the Body Shop Alone Calming Toner. This toner is Think Dirty approved with a rating of only 1 on the Dirty Meter!
3. Moisturize with my Andalou Naturals Coconut Water Visibly Firm Day Cream. You can find Andalou Naturals products at pretty much any health food stores (Whole Foods, Noah’s, etc.). The smell is half the reason I bought the cream (yay coconuts) and it’s not even made with fragrance! Once you apply the cream, your face feels fresh right away because of the spearmint. This cream does its job well, is not greasy at all and creates a great base for makeup.

About once a week I’ll use my 100% Pure Brightening Scrub and Mask. It has little jojoba beads in it which is nice for exfoliating and taking dead skin off your face. Seriously when you wash this off, your face feels so smooth. I’m not sure if it’s because this scrub is made with mostly fruits, but this is definitely not a mask that dries up your face. No lotion after necessary. I got my scrub on Amazon for under $10!

Bare Bones is a brand I stumbled upon while reading another green beauty blog. I have only tried two of their products (the cleanser and cedarwood deodorant) and so far, I like both. Their products are all hand made and really affordable. Best of all, the ingredients list is so natural and short that they fit it on the front of the packaging instead of the back. The cleanser I mentioned earlier is made with organic rosewater, organic tea tree oil and organic vegetable glycerin. Literally 3 ingredients! I swear no one paid me to say this, but I do like to shout out companies that I really believe in.

I also threw in the Avène Thermal Spring Water because I like to use it to set my makeup sometimes. Truthfully speaking, I don’t use this everyday because I can’t afford to. For water in a can it’s a little pricey, but it’s definitely a cleaner alternative to other setting sprays. Or you can fill up a spray bottle with water too I guess…

Well thats my current skin care routine, but I’m always trying new products so there will be lots more skin care related posts coming. Check out the products I mentioned below:
