Lately, I’ve been thinking about last August when I visited Mexico for the first time with Jason (my boyfriend) and a few friends. We stayed at the Grand Park Royal Cancún Caribe in Cancún and I have to say that the ocean view from our hotel room was one of my favourite things about the trip. I also loved seeing massive Sea Turtles on the beach at night laying their eggs and finding baby turtles near the resort.
Our group went on a few excursions including scuba diving, visiting Xcaret Park, Garrafon Natural Reef Park, Isla Mujeres, Xplor Park, and I think that is it… I can’t swim, so when I heard that we would be snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming in underground caves I was nervous but it all worked out because you wear life jackets anyway so if you can’t swim, don’t let that deter you from visiting Mexico.
All inclusive resorts are nice because after you plan your activities for the week, theres not much to worry about other than when your next meal will be. It was interesting being in Mexico and experiencing the different culture, hearing the locals speaking Spanish and seeing things like how different the transit system is in Mexico vs. Toronto.
I wish we saw more cenotes, and did more diverse excursions, but now we know for next time! Mexico was fun and I’m sure I will visit again, but for now I’ll just be reminiscing through my photos:
